• Close association with Salzburg, Austria  where my mother was born and where I still have close family ties
• Married to Cate and living in St Albans, Herts but spend time in the south of France where we have a home

A successful teacher for over 30 years, I took early retirement in 2010 and now concentrate on my interest in the stories contained within wood, singing and when I can find the time, fly fishing for trout.  I continue to work part-time in schools and use my experience of learning to inform my work with young people and teachers - see my blog for more information about this!   I am a committed learner but can't say that I am particularly good at it (although hope that I'm getting better).  I'm especially excited by the multimedia and communication facilities of computers for learners of all ages!  I worked for 13 years at Little Heath School proving that young people with special educational needs can achieve significant learning successes and address their own learning needs through using technology.
